I would like to share about my agriculture module learning in the Deshpande Fellowship program the agriculture module was conducted by Mis.Sangeetha Patil. She shared about agriculture zones, what agriculture is, who farmers are, sustainable agriculture, farmers field school (FFS). We learnt about the properties of soil and joined in soil horizon activities, there were 5 key tasks, agriculture allied income generating activities and field visits.
Agriculture is a science, before I knew agriculture is a science but I didn’t know what sustainable agriculture-means, sustainable is the kind of agriculture which seeks to conserve, develop and utilize natural resources on and around the human needs year after year and for the next generation.
Farmer school field (FFS)
Mis.Sangeetha is working in AME foundation(Agriculture man Ecological Foundation) she is a leader in AME foundation. AME is working with village farmers, AME creates 20 or 25 member groups. Who has more land, or interested farmers give one acre of land. With this land the FFS use it as a group lab. The AME foundation has FFS group objectives, principles, and elements, this process is helpful to farmers. These activities helps agriculture development.

This module is helpful to agriculture knowledge development, I liked Mis. Sangeetha madam presentation skills, communication, agriculture related income generating activities ideas and the AME foundation’s work information is useful for my career development.
